A new British History blog

This is a quick blog just to mention a new blog dedicated to the history of post-war Britain, simply titled British Contemporary History (not to be confused with the journal Contemporary British History). It is the blog of Dr Matt Cooper and has some fascinating stuff on it, including a review of Robert Ford and Matthew Goodwin’s new book on the rise of UKIP, Calder Walton’s Empire of Secrets and a paper from the 2013 Historical Materialism conference (London) on the integration of black and Asian workers into the British trade union movement. I am particularly interested in this last paper and have found it very useful to my own research, although my own work draws somewhat different conclusions. I recommend that you check out Matt’s blog ASAP!

Matt was also behind the ‘We Need to Talk About Dominic’ blog, a brilliant takedown of Sandbrook’s Seasons in the Sun TV series.
